Grupo Los Santos Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and Flamenco influences meet jazz....
These musicians are some of the best I've played with since moving to NYC in 1991, and are also some of my oldest friends...
I've been playing with and composing for this group since 1998; we've got a new CD out, "Lo Que Somos Lo Que Sea"
Check out "A Danca dos Santos", a tune from the new CD, on the tracks page for a Santos sampler
Swingadelic Swingadelic, bassist Dave Post's band of merry misfits, is a great swing and jump blues band based in Hoboken, NJ at Maxwell's, where we hold court every other Monday. I play tenor and also write some arrangements for the band. The great and greatly Buddy Terry plays alto and lays down some of the baddest blues and jazz vocals there is. Check the link for upcoming shows and also to buy Swingadelic CDs.
Zoohue This is my sister Meg's design page on MySpace; Meg did the beautiful artwork for the cover of 'Other Tongues', also featured as a background for this website.
Max Pollak & Rumbatap The slightly warped brainchild of Mr. Max Pollak, Rumbatap is a world-renowned combination of tap, afro-cuban folkore, body percussion, and world music...Max, the "fifth Santo", is another of my oldest friends and collaborators.
I wrote "Rumbatapestry", on the tracks page, for Max; check it out for some of his inspired madness!
Ben Lapidus & Sonido Isleno Composer/Tresero Ben Lapidus' innovative mix of Cuban, Puerto Rican, Dominican and other Caribbean influences powers this group's five critically acclaimed CDs. I'm on the last two, Blue Tres and Vive Jazz.
Art Lillard Art's a fine drummer and composer as well as a bandleader. I wrote some of my first big band charts for Art's Heavenly Band, and I continue to write for and play with him whenever possible.
George Petit George recorded and mixed 'Other Tongues'. He's super bad, the best engineer I've worked with; check out some of the tracks for the proof!
Gary Morgan & Panamericana Gary Morgan's big band is a group that performs his own original work as well as that of composers such as Itibere, Hermeto Pascoal, and Hilario Duran. With two french horns and a full percussion section, Gary's band has a unique sound and setup. I sub with the group on occasion; check out his new website!
